We have been waiting for the dust to settle from the storm we created on 15 April when we launched the National Alliance against Alcohol Related Violence. The storm continues to blow and the momentum continues to influence alcohol policy change across Australia.

The Prime Minister, Kevin Rudd, described alcohol related violence as 'a major national contagion'. The Victorian Government is trialling a 'lockout'. The Queensland and ACT governments have instituted major reviews of their Liquor Acts. The NSW Police Commissioner, Andrew Scipione, said that we have a 'drink to get drunk culture' and the Senate has just completed 2 significant inquiries into alcohol related issues. And the public debate continues to run.

We have started something! We are now looking at where we go from here. Watch this space.
